From the looks of it it looks like she was dancing in circles and suddenly stopped moving. Perhaps it's best to let the hair flow infront of her face a bit.

Hehe, I hope you get a nice rest during the week then.

I thought she was in mid-turn, why do you see her as having stopped moving?

Because of her foot positioning and the dress looks like it's trying to turn forward.

I sort of imagined her spinning counter-clockwise. Dervishes have such great outfits for spinning! I've made some attempts at her hair and nothing seems to look good - not even good enough to show for your opinions! That is how bad I am at showing motion through hair.

I'm actually working on her right now. I think I will search Google again for more reference photos...

Work has been really busy, and second work has been busy too. I may work on art this weekend but someone told me there are now GEE VEE GEE EMOTES?!?! so I'll likely be doing that when I can.

Next week I should have some more free time. I'm really looking forward to free time!

Smile Sylvari

Summer has been very busy, but sylvari week inspired me to start a new project. Here is a what I've done so far. I need to give this fellow a face, but it may be worth adding some more detail to the body. Do any of you have suggestions?

I love what you did with the gradient shades of green, and the layering. The upper torso seems to be lacking the same distribution of dark green that you find everywhere else, maybe you could add more dark green leaves to his "shirt"?

Yes; I think that would help to balance it nicely. I think I'll redo the shoulders a bit similar to what I did for his wrists. Thanks!

I redid the torso and back hand, and gave him a face. I removed the leaf outlines on his torso because I couldn't get them to look as much like naturally growing leaves as I wanted them to.

What do you think of this version?

Its looking good so far. Looking at just made me wonder whether the Sylvari would tend to be so symmetrical, I suppose thay can grow their 'clothes' as they like.

One of the impressions I got from the sylvari redesign reveal was that they are based largely on asymmetry. Removing the leaves on his torso (six-pack!) was a good move imo. Perhaps do something similar to what you did with his pants to create a kind of toga garment?

the eye.. the eye... it's looking at my soul!

But look good. I like the coloring.

Also notice that... you star with coloring first? Do you do a basic sketch beforehand too? Would like to see that too.

I could be mistaken, but I think Disco works in vectors?

That's right; I do vectors. I usually make some sketches in a notebook first, but it doesn't look very nice when I take a photo of my notebook and then post that.

I've been pretty busy lately, and before you ask: No; I have not been playing Skyrim. It's a single player game, right? I don't usually like single player games.

If you must know...I've been busy slaying marsh drakes!

Thanks for the comments! The asura was fun to draw.

Here's my latest work. I took a different approach to the lines, and I like how it turned out. I may go back to attempt a new shading method I saw somewhere.

That's supposed to be an ironwing bow.
